Maruti Dzire vs Hyundai Aura: Engine price and safety rating, which sedan is value for money?

 

Maruti Suzuki has recently launched a new compact sedan New Dzire for customers at a price of less than Rs 7 lakh. In this price segment, this car of Maruti Suzuki will compete directly with the Hyundai Aura, on paper, which of these two models has a more powerful engine? Let's find out.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Price vs Hyundai Aura Price

The LXI variant of this compact sedan is priced at Rs 6.79 lakh, the VXI variant is priced at Rs 7.79 lakh, the VXI AMT variant is priced at Rs 8.24 lakh, the VXI CNG variant is priced at Rs 8.74 lakh and the ZXI variant is priced at Rs 8.89 lakh. The ZXI AMT, ZXI CNG, ZXI+, and ZXI+ AMT variants are priced at Rs 9.34 lakh, Rs 9.84 lakh, Rs 9.69 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh respectively.

The price of E variant of this Hyundai sedan is Rs. 6.49 lakh, S variant is priced at Rs. 7.33 lakh, E CNG variant is priced at Rs. 7.49 lakh, SX variant is priced at Rs. 8.09 lakh and S CNG variant is priced at Rs. 8.31 lakh, SX(O) variant is priced at Rs. 8.66 lakh, SX+ AMT variant is priced at Rs. 8.89 lakh and the top variant is priced at Rs. 9.05 lakh.

Engine Details

Both Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Aura have 1.2 liter petrol engines, the only difference is that New Dzire will have a 3 cylinder engine while Hyundai Aura has a 4 cylinder engine. Talking about the power and torque of the engine, the petrol engine in Dzire generates 80bhp of power and 111.7Nm of torque, while the CNG model of this car will generate 69bhp of power and 101.8Nm of torque.

On the other hand, the engine in Aura will generate 82bhp of power and 113.8Nm of torque, while the CNG variant of this sedan generates 68bhp of power and 95.Nm of torque. One thing to note here is that twin cylinder technology has been used in Aura.

New Dzire Safety Rating

Maruti Suzuki's new Dzire has already shown its power before its launch, this car has received a 5 star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. On the other hand, Hyundai Aura has not yet been crash tested.
