Skoda India has launched the much awaited Kylaq with a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings for this compact SUV will start from December 2 and deliveries will begin from January 27, 2025. It should be noted that the carmaker has only announced the starting price right now. With the arrival of Kylaq, it will now give tough competition to popular models like Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Kia Sonet.

In terms of design, the Kylaq features Skoda's signature styling with a bold grille and split LED headlights flanked by sleek LED DRLs. Essentially, it looks similar to the Kushaq. The model has been launched in Olive Gold colour.

Built on Skoda's MQB-A0-IN platform, the Kylaq's interior is packed with features, including a 10.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster and rear AC vents. It also gets features that are in demand in the Indian market like a single-pane sunroof, keyless entry, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and leatherette upholstery.

Talking about safety features, which are standard across all variants, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, ISOFIX mounts and 3-point seatbelts are offered for all passengers. A standout feature is the powered seat adjustment for both the driver and front passenger. The Kylaq gets a 446-litre boot, which can be expanded with a 60:40 split-folding rear seat.

The Kylaq gets a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque. It is available in two transmission options, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Skoda claims that the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 10.5 seconds.
