UPI: From April 1, 2023, people using UPI for online transactions will get a big shock!

If you use UPI for online transactions then you will get a big shock from 1st April 2023. You may have to pay a charge for paying through apps like GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc.

This type of information has been given through the circular issued by the National Payments Corporation of India. Under this, there has been a suggestion to levy fees on merchant transactions through Unified Payments Interface (UPI). This means that from April 1, 2023, you may have to pay a fee on transactions done with merchants.

NCPI has now suggested levying a 'Prepaid Payment Instrument' fee on merchant transactions. According to reports, the governing body of the UPI payment system is considering imposing PPI fees on UPI payments above Rs 2,000. In this case, the interchange will be levied at 1.1% of the UPI transaction amount.
