Anurag Thakur wrote on social media in this regard that I feel extremely happy and honored to announce that Waheeda Rehman ji will be honored with this year's prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to Indian cinema. 

It is noteworthy that Waheeda Rehman had made her special identity in Bollywood on the basis of her brilliant acting. She has shown her acting skills in super hit films like Pyaasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Chaudhavin Ka Chand, Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, Guide and Khamoshi.
