New Delhi. A shocking incident has come to light in North-West Delhi, where a woman strangled her 5-year-old daughter to death to marry a man she met on Instagram. The police registered the case on Friday after receiving information about the girl being brought dead from Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital. The police is now questioning the girl's mother and her relatives.

Marks found on girl's neck

In the initial investigation by the police, strangulation marks were found on the neck of the girl. Seeing the seriousness of the case, an FIR was immediately registered and the girl's mother and her relatives were questioned. During the interrogation, the woman confessed to her crime. She revealed the whole truth to the police.

A friend found on Instagram became the reason for the relationship.

The woman revealed that her first husband had left her. After this, she met a man named Rahul on Instagram. She came to Delhi to marry him, but Rahul and his family refused to adopt the child. She did not want to lose Rahul at any cost. The child was coming in the way of marrying Rahul. Due to this, she was very upset. In this frustration, she strangled her daughter to death.

Sexual abuse of a girl child was also disclosed

The woman also said that her daughter was sexually assaulted when she was staying with a relative in Himachal Pradesh before coming to Delhi. In this case, too, the police have registered a case at Ashok Vihar police station under Section 103 (punishment for murder), 65 (2) (punishment for rape in certain cases) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 (punishment for aggravated sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He said that further investigation is going on. Delhi Police has started an in-depth investigation of the case. Police are also questioning Rahul and his family.
