After the defeat of the Congress in the Rajasthan Assembly elections, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot discussed important issues of the state with the newly elected MLAs in the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party held at the State Congress Office on Tuesday. During this, he said that Congress will remain committed to raising issues of public interest while playing the role of a positive opposition.

After the legislature party meeting, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot indicated that he would not become the leader of the opposition. During this, he said that we have left the decision of selection of Leader of Opposition to the high command. Ashok Gehlot even said that my role in the party would be as an ordinary worker. I believed that our government would be formed in the state.

We had fought the elections on the issue of planning and development, but the Bharatiya Janata Party fought the elections differently. BJP succeeded in polarizing. In the meeting, Congress MLAs passed a one-line resolution to elect the Leader of the Opposition and left this decision to the Congress high command.
