Nitin Gadkari In Goa: Former BJP national president and Union minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has been a different kind of party and that is why it has won the trust of voters time and again. Nitin Gadkari was felicitated by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Union Minister of State Shripad Y Naik during the BJP Goa State Executive meeting in Taleigao, Goa on Friday.

If we also start making the same mistakes then what is the use of our coming

Later in his speech, Nitin Gadkari cautioned BJP leaders and workers against repeating the mistakes made by the Congress in the past. It was because of those mistakes that the Congress was thrown out of power. More than a month after the BJP failed to secure a majority on its own in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Nitin Gadkari said, "If we continue doing what the Congress used to do, then there is no use of them coming out and us coming to power."

Gadkari reminded me of Advani's 'Party with a Difference'

Addressing the Goa BJP working committee meeting near Panaji, including state unit president Sadanand Tanavade and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Nitin Gadkari referred to his political guru and former deputy prime minister Lal Krishna Advani in his 40-minute long speech. "Advaniji used to say that we are a different party. We have to understand how different we are from other parties," he said.

People chose the BJP because of the mistakes of the Congress

Gadkari, a BJP MP from Nagpur for the third consecutive time, said that people have chosen the Bharatiya Janata Party because of the mistakes of the Congress. Therefore, our party will also have to be always cautious about making the same mistakes. He said, "If we also make the same mistakes, then their exit and our entry will have no meaning. Therefore, in the coming days, party workers should know that politics is just a means of social and economic reform in the country." Nitin Gadkari stressed, "If we have to make the country corruption-free, then we should have a solid plan for it."

'Whoever talks about caste will be kicked hard'

Referring to Maharashtra, the senior BJP leader said, "There is a trend of doing politics on a caste basis in the state. I have decided not to follow this trend. I have told people that I will not get involved in caste-based politics (Jaat-Paat). Jo karega jaat ki baat, isko padegi kaske laat (a strong kick)." Gadkari said that a person is identified by his values, not by his caste.

Big victory of Mahayuti in the Maharashtra MLC election

Nitin Gadkari's statement came on the day when the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, which includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's NCP, and BJP, has recovered from the disappointing results of the Lok Sabha elections by achieving a significant victory in the MLC elections. BJP fielded five candidates in this election, including Pankaja Munde, daughter of late senior leader Gopinath Munde, and all of them won. Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP nominated two candidates each and all four were victorious.
