Chhattisgarh government handed over the investigation of Mahadev Satta App to CBI, Bhupesh Baghel is also an accused

Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Monday said that the state government has handed over the cases registered in connection with the Mahadev betting app 'scam' to the CBI. Along with this, he said that the state government had also issued a notification giving consent in this regard last week. Talking to the media, Sharma said that 70 cases related to the alleged Mahadev scam were registered in several police stations of the state and one case in the EOW. We have decided to hand over all these cases to the CBI and a notification has also been issued in this regard.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that this issue has become a matter of many states instead of just one state. It is said that some kingpins also live abroad. Looking at the seriousness of the matter, now the CBI will investigate this matter. There will be no leniency in this matter and strict action will be taken. Action will also be taken to bring back those people who are abroad related to this case.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that several senior officials of the state informed that the Home Department of Chhattisgarh had issued a notification in this regard on August 22. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also been investigating money laundering cases related to the Mahadev app for more than a year now.

After the BJP came to power in the state, the EOW filed an FIR in March based on a report submitted by the ED. Former Chhattisgarh chief minister and senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel, app promoters Ravi Uppal, Saurabh Chandrakar, Shubham Soni, and Anil Kumar Agarwal, and 14 others have been named as accused in the EOW FIR.

Political conspiracy is being hatched- Baghel

In this case, Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel had said that he was being implicated due to a political conspiracy. At the same time, the ED has said that the investigation revealed the involvement of many big leaders and bureaucrats of Chhattisgarh. Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, operate the betting platform from Dubai through its many branches.

It has been claimed that this app was an umbrella syndicate that provided online platforms for illegal betting websites to register new users. The ED has so far arrested a total of 11 people in this case. The central agency had said that the estimated proceeds of crime are about six thousand crore rupees.
