Firing again in AMU, 2 groups of students fight in the library canteen; 2 seriously injured

 

Regarding the incident, AMU proctor Wasim Ali said that on Thursday evening around 4 pm, information was received that there was a fight between two groups of students on the ground in front of Kennedy Hall. Firing also took place. Security personnel reached the spot as soon as the information was received. When security saw, BA student Suhail had injury marks on his forehead and chest. Another student was also lying injured. Security immediately informed the police about this. On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and admitted the injured students to the hospital.

Proctor Wasim Ali said that the investigation revealed that the attackers who assaulted the two students are studying paramedical at AMU. There were some other students as well who fled on their bikes after the firing and assault. The police also investigated the spot and checked the CCTV footage. Proctor Wasim Ali said that based on CCTV footage, the attackers will be identified and strict action will be taken against them.

According to sources, on Thursday morning, there was a dispute between the two groups of students over some issues. In this case, there was a settlement between the two groups of students. Despite this, the attacking students of the other side resorted to firing and assault even after the settlement. Along with this, a case was registered against the attacking students in the police station on the complaint of the student injured in the fight.

ASP Amrit Jain said that there was a dispute and fight between two parties in the library canteen of the AMU campus over some issues. The injured were immediately admitted to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of AMU, where the condition of all is said to be out of danger. Police also received information about firing between the two parties. The local police immediately reached the spot and investigated the incident. A special police team has been formed to identify the accused. The attackers will be caught as soon as possible.
