The accused was handed over to Kurla police. After that, he was asked the reason for the murder. The accused confessed to the murder and told about the entire incident. Both were friends of each other and had come to Mumbai a few days ago for work. At the time of the incident, both the youths were drunk. The police sent the body for post-mortem. Action was taken against the accused and he has been sent to jail.

According to Mumbai Police, Chhakkan and Zahid were friends. They belong to the same village in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh. Both had come to Mumbai for work and worked in a cloth factory. On the night of the incident, both the youths were going somewhere in an auto rickshaw. The driver asked them for 30 rupees as fare. There was a dispute between the two over the auto rickshaw fare and they started fighting with each other. In anger, Zahid beat up Chhakkan. During the fight, Zahid pushed Chhakkan due to which he fell on the ground.

The accused was arrested from Kalyan railway station

Chakkan started bleeding after falling on the ground. Seeing this, Zahid got scared and fled from there. Police got information about a blood-soaked youth lying on the road. Police took the injured youth to the hospital. Doctors declared him dead. Police searched the CCTV cameras of the crime scene area. In one or two footages, a youth was seen fighting with the deceased. Police formed teams to catch the accused. Meanwhile, after committing the murder, accused Zahid reached Kalyan railway station to escape to Gonda via train, where he was arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch. Accused Zahid was handed over to Kurla police.
