Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday launched the 'Humsafar Policy' and said that under this, clean toilets, baby care rooms, and other necessary facilities will be provided on national highways. According to a statement issued by the government, under this policy, various facilities like clean toilets, baby care rooms, provision for wheelchairs, charging stations for electric vehicles, parking spaces, and accommodation facilities will be started at petrol pump stations located along national highways.

Improving the passenger experience

The Ministry of Road Transport believes that this policy will provide a convenient, safe, and enjoyable experience to the passengers who use the national highways. Apart from this, this policy will empower entrepreneurs, create employment, and increase livelihood opportunities for service providers. Nitin Gadkari said that the 'Humsafar' brand will become a symbol of safety and comfort for passengers and drivers on the country's world-class highway network.

Gadkari also stressed the need to provide high-quality, standardized services on national highways.
