When the youth lodged a report at Sayla police station in this matter, the police ignored him, after which he sought help from the SP.
Proposed for marriage on 2 October
The victim, Kartar Singh, says that on October 2, Gautam Singh of his village and Mod Singh of Asana proposed to him for marriage. After this, on October 8, the victim's family and the accused went to Deesa, where he was made to talk to a girl named Lakshmi Kanwar on video call. Later, his marriage was fixed on October 10, and Rs 30,000 in cash and Rs 20,000 as marriage expenses were transferred to the account of accused Bharat Singh.
I got married on 26 October…but a scandal happened
On October 26, the youth married accused Gautam Singh at a hotel in Deesa. After this, the bride and the youth returned home, but after a few days, it was revealed that Laxmi Kanwar was a fraud woman who was planning to elope after the marriage. The youth reported the fraud at Sayla police station on November 21, but the policeman there ignored his complaint and threatened that if he filed a case, he would get into trouble.
Such incidents bring shame to the police department
When the youth complained to the SP, an investigation was started keeping in mind the seriousness of the matter. However, Sayla police station in-charge Mahendra Singh says that the girl's complaint came on the CM helpline, and she was sent to Sakhi Center to send her home. This incident not only highlights the negligence of the police department but also shows the seriousness of the increasing incidents of fraud and cheating in the name of marriage.
