PM Modi is all set to go on his first foreign trip after winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He will leave for Italy today to attend the G-7 summit.

Will get an opportunity to meet world leaders

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said in New Delhi that India has been invited as an outreach country to the summit to be held on Friday. He said that this visit will be an opportunity to join with world leaders in a conference on issues important to India and the global south.

This will be India's 11th and PM Modi's fifth consecutive participation in the summit. The Prime Minister will participate in the outreach session. Apart from the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may also hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of the G7 countries.

PM Modi will also meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The Foreign Secretary said that India will participate in the Ukraine Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland. Around 90 countries will participate in the summit to be held in Switzerland this month. This visit will provide PM Modi an opportunity to connect with other world leaders present at the summit on issues important for India and the global south.

'PM Modi's important role on the global stage'

Ahead of the Prime Minister's arrival, India's Ambassador to Italy Vani Rao said that PM Modi will play an important role on the global stage. Speaking to ANI, Ambassador Vani Rao said that PM Modi will also discuss some key issues during India's G-20 presidency here.

There will be a bilateral meeting with Meloni

Prime Minister Modi will also hold a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Italy is chairing the G-7 summit this year. According to Italy, Russia's aggressive war on Ukraine has fueled instability in the world, leading to many crises around the world. According to Italy, the G-7 will give full importance to the Middle East conflict and its consequences as a global agenda.

PM Modi and US President Joe Biden may meet

US President Biden and Prime Minister Modi may meet at the G-7 summit to be held in Italy. However, the schedule of the bilateral meeting between the two leaders is not yet finalised.

US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jack Sullivan said on Wednesday that President Biden and Indian Prime Minister Modi may meet at the G-7 summit. It is up to the Indians to formally confirm Modi's presence. We hope that the two leaders will get a chance to meet each other.
