Kashmir Weather: This year Kashmir is hotter than Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru! 

Weather Update: Kashmir valley, which is called heaven on earth, is experiencing scorching heat. On July 3, the temperature reached 35.6 degrees. Experts believe that the reason for this increase in temperature is the continuous dry weather and the increasing temperature of the earth, which has increased the maximum temperature.

Tourists who came to Kashmir Valley to get relief from the scorching heat in North India are very disappointed with the scorching heat in the valley. The world-famous Dal Lake and the Boulevard Road along the lake remain one of the busiest roads in Srinagar city, but due to the scorching heat, very few tourists are seen here during the day. The maximum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius, which is 6.0 degrees Celsius above normal. This is the highest July temperature recorded in Srinagar since 1993, when the maximum temperature reached 37.0 degrees Celsius on July 09 and in 1999 the temperature touched 36 in July. Overall, this is the 11th highest temperature recorded in Srinagar in July. The highest maximum temperature ever recorded was 38.3 degrees Celsius on July 10, 1946.

Faizan Arif, weather analyst said "Yesterday's temperature was 35.6 degrees and it was the highest temperature since 1999 when the temperature was 37.0 degrees and it is also the 11th highest temperature recorded in the month of July in Srinagar. And it was not only Srinagar but higher reaches like Kokernag also recorded the highest ever temperature. Qazigund station and Gulmarg also broke their decade-old records, similar heat was observed in northern plains and south Kashmir,"

Tourists visiting Kashmir Valley, Himachal, and other North Indian states like Uttarakhand come here to escape the scorching heat in their areas. But Kashmir has not been much different from the plains of North India this year too. Those who came to Kashmir with the hope of seeing icy winds and escaping the scorching heat of the rest of the country are very disappointed, they are shocked to see the heat in the valley as well. What they had come to expect is being seen as the opposite.

Tourist Retish said that we thought that if we went to Kashmir we would get some coolness but we were disappointed here, the temperature here is very high, just like the temperature in UP, it is the same here. The reason for this is global warming.. pollution has increased a lot.. vehicles have increased a lot.

Gururaj Nayak, who came from Madras, said that we had brought a lot of winter stuff with us. We thought it would be like winter. But nothing is being used. It is very hot here. We had come thinking it was winter. We have come for the first time, and people have said that it is winter. But it is not so. Some people were about to come.. but we are asking them to postpone it.

Not only the tourists were disappointed but the local people were also very worried. There seems to be no relief from the scorching heat. Kashmir usually does not get this hot and people are not prepared for such temperatures. The local people said that transport has increased a lot in Kashmir. Many vehicles have come from outside. Pollution has increased. That is why the heat has increased.

The Meteorological Department has said that there is no hope of relief from the heat in the next 48 hours. Not only in Srinagar city but tourist places like Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Kokernag, and Verinag also have similar weather conditions. The valley is witnessing irregular weather, heavy snowfall, and severe cold wave conditions were seen in mid-April and now people are facing heat waves in June and July.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has regulated departments and nodal officers to help the affected persons under the Heat Wave Action Plan. The administration has also urged the residents to remain alert during this summer season and take necessary precautions to protect their health.
