Ladakh Tank Accident: Accident while crossing the river from the tank in Ladakh!

 

Ladakh Tank Exercise: Five army soldiers were swept away while crossing a river on a T-72 tank near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Nyoma-Chushul area of ​​Ladakh late Friday night. All of them were martyred due to drowning in the accident. The bodies of all have been recovered. Army officials said that this tragic accident happened during a military exercise taking place at around 1 am near Mandir Mor, about 148 km from a milestone. Talking about the team present in the tank, there was a JCO and four soldiers in it.

Officials said that the T-72 tank carrying five soldiers sank due to sudden floods while crossing the river. Rescue operation was started as soon as the news was received. Rescue team reached the spot. The army has responded to this accident. Leh-based 14 Corps said in its statement- Army tank got stuck due to sudden rise in water level after military training activity on the night of 28 June 2024. Due to high water flow and rising water level, the rescue operation was not successful and all the crew members in the tank were martyred. The Indian Army regrets the death of five brave personnel while deployed during operations in eastern Ladakh. Rescue operation is underway.

Rajnath Singh wrote on Instagram - 'Deeply saddened by the loss of lives of five of our brave Indian Army soldiers in an unfortunate accident while transporting tanks across a river in Ladakh.'
