Mahalakshmi Case Bengaluru: Why did the murderer cut Mahalakshmi into 59 pieces? He told the story of 23 days in his suicide note, he was upset about this thing.
That evening of 3rd September... Vailikaval area of Bengaluru, Karnataka... 29-year-old saleswoman Mahalakshmi was brutally murdered in a flat here. No one had any idea that such a horrific incident had happened here. Everything went on like this. Then suddenly one day the girl's mother Meena Rana came to her house. The daughter's phone was switched off for many days. No one had any information about her. Mahalakshmi's twin sister also came there with her mother. On 21st September, as soon as both of them opened Mahalakshmi's flat, they were shocked.
There were blood stains, small pieces of flesh, and other things scattered in the room. The stench was so bad that it was difficult to even stand there. Both of them saw that the blood stains were ending near the fridge. Mother went to the fridge. As soon as she opened the fridge door, a scream came out. There were 30 to 40 pieces of human corpses inside. Mahalakshmi's severed head was lying below. Hearing Mother's scream, many more people reached there. The police were immediately informed about it.
It was as if a huge crowd had gathered outside Mahalakshmi's house. Then the police reached there. The police themselves were not able to stand in that room. The stench was so strong. The forensic team was called for investigation. They too were terrified to see this gruesome scene. Some people were called from the post-mortem house for help. The police found a total of 59 pieces of the body. Evidence was collected from the spot. Then the police investigation began. Who was Mahalakshmi's murderer? Everyone wanted just this one answer.
Mother Meena told the police that we were originally from the Tikapur area of Nepal. I shifted to Bangalore with my husband Charan Singh about 35 years ago. We came here to earn money. We had twin daughters after coming here. They were named Mahalakshmi and Lakshmi. Then we had two sons Ukkum Singh and Naresh. Mahalakshmi was then married to Hemant Das who lived in the Nelamangala area.
Separated from their husband Hemant
Hemant runs a mobile repair shop. Then Mahalakshmi also started working in a beauty center of a mall. Both had a daughter. But in the year 2023, there was a rift between Mahalakshmi and Hemant. Both got separated. Mahalakshmi then started living in the Vailikaval area. I always used to come to meet Mahalakshmi once in 15 to 20 days. But when her phone was switched off, we got worried. I came to her house with my second daughter. I saw that her body was lying cut into pieces.
What did husband Hemant say?
Police also questioned Mahalakshmi's husband Hemant. Police suspected that Hemant might be behind all this because Mahalakshmi and he did not get along well. In the month of February this year, Mahalakshmi also filed a complaint against her husband Hemant for assault. But whatever Hemant told the police, they were also shocked. Hemant said- Sir, my wife was having an affair with a hair dresser named Ashraf. Ashraf used to come often to pick her up and drop her home on his bike. He must have killed Mahalakshmi.
Focus shifts from Hemant to Ashraf
Now the entire focus of the police turned towards Ashraf. After Hemant's complaint, the police searched for Ashraf. Ashraf was in Bengaluru and was at his work. The police brought him to the police station for questioning. He was questioned for a long time there. After his statement, his location in the last 20 days, call detail records, and the testimony of eyewitnesses, the police released Ashraf after interrogation.
After this, the police searched the CCTV cameras installed in the area. It was found that on the night of 2 September, two people had come to her house on a scooter. However, the faces of these two people were not visible in the footage. The investigation continued. Now it was clear that neither Hemant nor Ashraf had any hand in this murder. So who was the third person who killed Mahalakshmi so brutally? The investigation continued.
Police teams kept investigating this case day and night. Later they got a clue. The police had found out the address of the murderer's brother. The family of the murderer whom the police were looking for also lives in Mumbai. Bangalore police reached one of the murderer's brothers. The murderer's brother told the police that after the murder of Mahalakshmi, his brother himself had told him that he had killed Mahalakshmi.
Mukti Ranjan committed suicide
The name of the murderer was Mukti Ranjan Roy. Who was Mukti Ranjan Roy and why did he kill Mahalakshmi? Where is Mukti at this time? The police wanted to know all these questions. The investigation of the case was further intensified. It was found that Mukti Ranjan is currently in Odisha. The police team became alert. Then shocking news came out. On September 25, the police found the body of Mukti Ranjan Roy in Bhadrak city. Mukti had committed suicide. The police found a diary and a death note with the accused. Mukti Ranjan was a resident of Fundi village and worked in a clothes shop in Bengaluru.
What was written in the death note?
Ranjan wrote in his death note- I killed Mahalakshmi on 3rd September. That day I went to Mahalakshmi's house. We argued over something. Then Mahalakshmi attacked me. I did not like this and in anger I killed her. Then I cut her body into 59 pieces put them in the fridge and ran away from there. I also tried to clean the room so that people would not smell the stench. I did not like Mahalakshmi's behavior at all. I regretted the murder later. Because whatever I did in anger was wrong. I was scared so I ran here.
I came home a day earlier
Mukti Ranjan, a resident of Fundi village in Odisha, came home the previous morning i.e. on 24 September. He stayed at home for a while and went out on a scooty bike at night. This time he took his laptop with him and no one knows where he went after that. The next day his body was found hanging in a cemetery called Kulepada. At present, a case has been registered at Dusiri police station regarding the suicide of Mukti Ranjan Roy. In this way, Bengaluru police solved the mystery of the Mahalakshmi murder case.
