NEET Paper Leak Case: The government has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in the NEET paper leak case. The government says that there is no indication of any large-scale tampering. NEET counseling will start from the third week of July.

The central government filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court on Wednesday in the NEET paper leak case. The government says that data analysis has not indicated any large-scale tampering. Therefore, it is not in support of NEET UG re-exam. NEET counseling will start from the third week of July. NTA has also filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in this matter. The Supreme Court will hear this case on Thursday.

In its affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, the Central Government has said that IIT Madras has done a comprehensive technical evaluation on the data related to NEET. The data analysis also shows that no local candidate has benefited due to abnormal scores. All-round efforts are being made to establish every possible step and mechanism to resolve this.

Government is committed to create a strong examination process

The government has said that on one hand it is being ensured that no candidate guilty of malpractice gets any benefit. On the other hand it should be ensured that 23 lakh students are not burdened with a new examination based only on apprehensions. The central government is committed to creating a strong examination process.

A committee of experts has been constituted

The government has said in the affidavit that all competitive examinations should be conducted in a fair and transparent manner, in which the scope of any kind of malpractice in the examination process such as impersonation, cheating or paper-leak crime for people with criminal mindset is completely prohibited. We have formed a committee of experts to recommend conducting transparent and smooth examinations.

23.33 lakh students took part in the exam held on May 5

On May 5, 23.33 lakh students had taken the exam at 4,750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 foreign cities. The Centre and the NTA had said in their earlier affidavits filed in the court that cancelling the exam would be prejudicial. Doing so in the absence of evidence would seriously endanger the lives of lakhs of honest candidates.
