RPF was on regular patrol in the train leaving from Gorakhpur. Since it was night, they were searching for each coach. They were questioned on suspicion. While going from one coach to another, the jawans were passing by a toilet. At that time strange sounds were coming from the toilet. The RPF jawan walked fast and went ahead, but came back after hearing the sound. On suspicion, he knocked on the toilet door but it did not open. The jawans opened the door with great difficulty and were shocked to see the scene inside. This information was given to RPF and Railway officials. The officials who reached the spot took necessary action.

Indian Railways is running Operation 'Nanhe Farishte' to save children who have run away or are being kidnapped. Under this, RPF checks the trains passing through the stations and the stations and the children found are handed over to the District Child Welfare Committee.

Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Railway, Pankaj Kumar Singh said that in this sequence, 644 children in danger at stations and trains were rescued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Northeast Railway from April to October 2024.

433 boys and 211 girls rescued

Under Operation 'Nanhe Farishte', 368 children were rescued on the Northeast Railway in the year 2023-24. Similarly, in the year 2024-25, till October 2024, a total of 644 children including 433 boys and 211 girls were rescued, these include runaway, missing, separated, destitute, kidnapped, mentally deranged and homeless children.
