Suffocating air in Delhi: Schools locked, online education era back

Due to rising pollution levels in Delhi, schools have been closed for all classes except 10th and 12th. Chief Minister Atishi has taken this decision under GRAP-4, according to which schools will arrange online classes.

Delhi Pollution News: Pollution has reached a serious level in Delhi, due to which classes of all students except 10th and 12th have been closed. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi took this decision on Sunday as the air quality remained at dangerous levels for the fifth consecutive day. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has implemented strict measures under the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which came into effect from 8 am on Monday. Under GRAP-4, all schools will arrange online learning for most of the students.

Schools should arrange online classes

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi wrote on social media platform X - With the implementation of GRAP-4 from tomorrow, physical classes will be closed for all students except class 10 and 12. All schools will arrange online classes till further orders. Let us tell you that people are facing problems due to poor air quality in Delhi-NCR for a long time. Due to this, health related issues are also increasing among the people. In Haryana, Deputy Commissioners have been asked to assess the level of pollution at the local level and temporarily close classes up to fifth in the affected districts.

AQI in Delhi crosses 450

On Sunday evening, the Air Quality Index (AQI) level in Delhi reached 457. Let us tell you that an AQI of more than 300 is considered dangerous. Due to the extremely poor air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) decided to implement strict rules under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

Temporary ban on all types of construction work

No truck will be allowed to enter Delhi except those transporting essential goods or using fuel (LNG/CNG/BS-VI diesel/electric). Apart from this, all types of construction work including highways, roads, flyovers, power lines, pipelines and other public projects have been temporarily banned.

Recommendation to implement work from home

In view of the dangerous pollution in Delhi NCR, all offices have been asked to implement 50% work from home. The CAQM panel has suggested that only half the people should be called in all the offices, the rest should be given the facility to work from home. Apart from this, it has been asked to implement the odd-even system for vehicles once again.
