The government will build 12 industrial smart cities, 10 lakh people will get employment- Modi cabinet's big decision

 

In the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approval was given to develop 12 industrial smart cities under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program (NICDP). Apart from Agra and Prayagraj of UP, Gaya district of Bihar has also been included in this project. The government will invest Rs 28,602 crore through this ambitious project. The government said that this project will provide direct employment to 10 lakh people.

Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnav informed about the cabinet decision that to promote domestic manufacturing, the Union Cabinet has approved the construction of 12 new industrial smart cities in 9 states. An investment of Rs 28,602 crore will be made on this. Investment possibilities of Rs 1.52 lakh crore will be created through the proposed 12 industrial smart cities.

This decision of the government is being considered as an important step towards enhancing the manufacturing capabilities and economic growth of the country as this project is spread across 9 states and strategically planned along 6 major corridors.

These industrial areas will be located in Khurpiya in Uttarakhand, Rajpura-Patiala in Punjab, Dighi in Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerala, Agra and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Koppathi in Andhra Pradesh and Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan.

Under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, these zones are expected to generate significant employment opportunities, generating direct jobs for about 10 lakh people and indirect jobs for up to 30 lakh people through planned industrialization.

Earlier, a cabinet meeting was held today on Wednesday under the leadership of PM Modi. Apart from PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also attended the meeting. After the cabinet meeting, a separate meeting was also held between Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP National President JP Nadda.

Three infrastructure projects of Railways approved

Apart from this, three infrastructure projects of railways have been approved. The third line of 121 km from Jamshedpur Purulia Asansol, the second is a new double line of 37 km between Sardega- (Sundargarh district) - Bhalumuda (Rayagad district) and the third is a new line of 138 km from Bargarh Road to Navapara (Odisha).

The cabinet has increased the agriculture fund. Agri Infra Fund was started in the year 2020, and its corpus was one lakh crore. Apart from this, the cabinet has approved starting the facility of FM radio in 234 cities. For this, 730 channels will be auctioned.

On the angle of sabotage in recent train accidents, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this is a very sensitive matter. We are investigating every incident in detail. I do not think the railways should be a part of allegations and counter-allegations. It should be above politics. If there is anything negative, we should all stand together and ensure that the railways run efficiently.
