50 tolas of gold and so much cash stolen
Gandhinagar police said that a theft took place at the house of Dr. Amrita Kaur, a Publication Officer in the OTS campus. She was not in her flat on 25 October. At 1:00 pm, about 50 tolas of gold and ₹50000 cash were stolen from the cupboard. She returned after some time, but her gold chain, mangalsutra, rings, bangles, necklaces, and many silver ornaments were missing.
The officer got back the bag full of gold
Police said that he broke into the flat by opening its lock. After that, he committed theft and then he escaped by cutting the grill at the back. Police were investigating the whole story. It was found that on Saturday the thief threw about 35 tola gold in the field behind the flat. All this gold was found in a bag by the Publication Officer. Now police are engaged in uncovering the theft of 15 tola gold and ₹50000. Police believes that someone from the OTS staff can commit such a crime. All CCTV cameras are being checked.
All the VIPs live in this campus of Jaipur
Actually OTS is a big campus, in which training and other sessions of all the administrative officers associated with the Rajasthan government are held. Many officers have flats and small houses here. This entire campus is surrounded by boundary walls from all sides and entry and exit are possible only through the main gate. CCTV cameras are installed in the entire campus but at some places, the cameras are not working. Publication Officer Dr. Amrita Kaur says that she had gone out of Jaipur for about 10 days last month. During this time the flat was closed, it is possible that during this time someone did a recce and committed the crime as soon as they got the opportunity.
