Unique case of mass marriage in MP: Ready for garland but not to sindoor

 

A couple at a mass marriage ceremony in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh, refused to participate in the rituals. They said they had come only for the benefit of ₹49,000, their marriage was already fixed.

A couple attended a mass marriage ceremony in Madhya Pradesh recently. This mass marriage was organized under the Chief Minister's 'Kanyadan Yojana'. But, this boy and girl were not ready to participate in marriage rituals. The groom did not apply sindoor to the bride, nor did the two take the wedding vows. 

This made the organizers and the people present there suspicious. It is being told that this incident happened on Tuesday in the Nagda district of Madhya Pradesh. 81 couples had come to get married in this ceremony held at Narendra Modi Sports Complex. Here marriages were done according to Hindu and Muslim customs. But, people's attention was drawn towards this couple when they did not participate in the rituals. 

After this, people questioned him in detail. In response, he said that his marriage has already been fixed, and it will take place in February 2025. He noted that Khachrod Panchayat had asked him to participate in this mass marriage because in this he would get a cheque of ₹ 49,000 and other gifts. 

The boy and the girl said they had joined the event on the advice of the Panchayat with certain conditions. They were ready to exchange garlands but would apply sindoor and perform wedding rituals only on their fixed wedding date. 

And they did just that. But, some people noticed this and raised questions. According to reports, this incident has raised many questions about mass marriage.
