He said a jetty has already been constructed near the airport to support the initiative. "By utilising the vast sea lanes around Mumbai and Thane, we can reduce traffic congestion and air pollution to a great extent. On the traffic problems in Mumbai and Pune, Gadkari mentioned about the New Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Once fully operational, external traffic will be diverted and congestion in metropolitan areas will be reduced, he said.
