35% now, 10% more next year! Justin Trudeau is busy reducing the number of foreign students.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is busy making changes in his country's immigration policy. After announcing 35 percent student permits in the year 2024, he has made another announcement. Trudeau has said that it will be reduced by another 10 percent in 2025. He said that immigration benefits our economy, but when bad elements misuse the system and take advantage of students, strict action has to be taken.

Trudeau's party has seen its opinion polls plummet in recent months as Trudeau comes under heavy pressure over immigration policy, which is putting pressure on the country's housing and social services. Reducing the number of temporary residents, including foreign students and workers, in an effort to limit record immigration has become a key issue for the 2025 general election.

Justin Trudeau said, we are reducing the number of low-paid, temporary foreign workers and reducing their working hours. We adjusted the program after the pandemic, but the labor market is changing. We need businesses that invest in Canadian workers.

According to the government, Canada plans to issue 437,000 study permits in 2025. In 2024, it is 485,000. In the year 2026 also, the number of permits will remain at 437,000. Earlier in 2023, Canada had given permits to 509,390 students.

Canada's Immigration Minister Marc Miller said, coming to Canada is a privilege, not a right. He said the reality is that not everyone who wants to come to Canada will be able to come. Similarly, those who are in Canada and want to stay here will not be able to stay here.
