When Hind Rajab was travelling with her uncle and aunt's family to a safe place in a car, Israeli tanks opened fire on the car. Hind Rajab's uncle, aunt and two cousins ​​were already killed. Meanwhile, 15-year-old Lion Hamdah, who was in the car with them, called the Palestine Red Crescent Society. Hamdah told the operator, 'They are firing at us. The tank is right next to me, we are in the car and the tank is right next to us.'

Hind Rajab was alone in the car among the dead bodies

During the conversation, Hamdah was screaming and the sound of machine gun fire could be heard. When the operator called again, 15-year-old Hamdah had also been killed in the Israeli attack. 6-year-old Hind Rajab picked up the call and told the operator that all the other people in the car had been killed, only she had survived. Rajab told that the Israeli tank was constantly coming closer to the car.

Hind Rajab was on call with the PRCS operator for about 3 hours, Rajab said 'I am very scared, please come and take me from here, please.' Rajab asked the operator if she was coming to pick him up? The operator told Hind Rajab to hide in the car and a PRCS ambulance was sent to rescue her. During this time the Israeli army had surrounded the entire area, according to the Red Crescent, they contacted the Israeli army to rescue Rajab and after a few hours the ambulance was allowed to go on a designated route so that it could rescue Hind Rajab.

PRCS ambulance had reached close to Hind Rajab's car, health workers had informed on call that they have found Hind Rajab's car. According to PRCS, before their team could rescue the innocent girl, Israeli army targeted the ambulance as well. Two health workers in the ambulance, Yousuf Al-Jaino and Ahmed Al-Mahdoon, were also killed in Israeli army firing.

On the other hand, Hind Rajab kept crying and pleading for help while talking to the operator, she kept saying that I am scared, please take me out of here. During this time, the Israeli tank kept coming closer to her car. The operator asked her to pray to God to remove the girl's panic, she was praying when the Israeli tank once again showered bullets from the machine gun. Meanwhile, the sound of a loud explosion was also heard, after which the phone connection was lost.

When the Israeli army withdrew from the area 12 days later, the bodies of Hind Rajab and her uncle and aunt were recovered from the car. The car's windows were completely shattered, there were numerous bullet holes on the doors and the wreckage of the Red Crescent ambulance was scattered a few feet away. According to the forensic investigation report released in June, 335 rounds of bullets were fired on the car in which Hind Rajab and her family were travelling.

UNHRC had called it a 'war crime'

In July this year, the United Nations Human Rights Council had declared the killing of 'Hind Rajab' a war crime. However, the Israeli army kept claiming that they were not carrying out any military action in that area during the incident. However, a few days ago, Sky News claimed through satellite images that at least 15 Israeli military vehicles were present near Tel al-Hawa on January 29 and an Israeli tank is visible in satellite images just 300 meters from where the Red Crescent ambulance was attacked.

The bodies of Hind Rajab and her uncle and aunt's family were found on February 10, 12 days after the incident.
