Canada's love for terror, Goldie Brar's name removed from the wanted list, Sanjay Verma scolded him
Relations between the two countries are at their lowest point due to Canada's love for terrorism and anti-India stance. Both countries have recalled their diplomats last week. Meanwhile, on Thursday, Canada suddenly removed the name of gangster Goldie Brar from its wanted list. India's High Commissioner Sanjay Verma, who has been recalled from Canada, is aware of this. He has once again termed Canada's behavior on this as poor.
In an interview with PTI, Sanjay Verma said that Canada suddenly removed the name of gangster Goldy Brar, active in the North American nation, from its list of wanted criminals. He said that India had shared the names of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Brar with Canadian authorities. After which Brar's name was put on the wanted list.
Senior diplomat Sanjay Verma also said that the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was wrong. The truth should come out after a full investigation. Along with this, he said, 'Nijjar was a terrorist for us, but for any democracy, a country with the rule of law, anything extrajudicial is wrong.' The diplomat said, 'We always told them that we want to get to the bottom of the whole episode, so that you are satisfied, we are satisfied.'
What do I make of this? - Sanjay Verma
Sanjay Verma said that Goldy Brar used to run a gang in Canada but there are many such groups in that country whose reach is not so international. But their influence is all over Canada. He said that Goldy Brar was living in Canada. His name was put on the wanted list on his request. He said, 'Now suddenly Goldy Brar's name has disappeared from the wanted list. What do I make of this? Either he has been arrested or he is no longer wanted.'
He further said that therefore, when violence starts over drug trafficking or human trafficking and gun running, it has been seen that murders increase in the world. Brar is believed to be a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Brar came into the limelight after taking responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022. However, reports suggest that both are now running separate gangs.
Canadian officials woke up from their dreams- Verma
Verma said that India had shared the names of Goldie Brar and Bishnoi with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). India's High Commissioner Sanjay Verma, who was recalled from Canada, said, 'It is not that Canada or Canadian officials woke up from their dreams and said, here is a Lawrence Bishnoi and there is a Goldie Brar. It was an Indian agency that told them about these two gangsters.'
Relations between Canada and India have been strained since the death of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June 2023. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has made baseless allegations against India in the case of Nijjar's murder.
