Explainer: China challenges America by showing Taiwan's eyes, puts the most trusted warrior in the war game

China H-6 Bomber: China and America are playing war games by making Taiwan pivot. On the lines of America, China has also given a new edge to a deadly weapon of the Cold War era.

World News : Last month, the sky of Taiwan echoed with the thunder of China's fighter planes. By launching new attack aircraft in the air, new warships and missiles in the sea, China directly challenged America. One of those dangerous weapons is such that it was first flown when the world was in the early stages of the Cold War. China recently modernized its H-6 fighter jet and landed in Taiwan. The US also uses upgraded versions of B-52 bombers during the Cold War.

China's H-6 bomber: Cold War warrior

Pentagon reports on the Chinese military show that China has added several modern capabilities to the H-6 bombers. Some of the upgraded H-6 bombers can now also launch ballistic missiles equipped with nuclear warheads. China has also added the capability to carry long-range anti-ship and land attack missiles to many H-6 bombers.

According to defense analysts, some H-6 bombers can be refueled in the air. With this, they can fly from airbases in the interior of China and hit very deep in the western Pacific. Many major US military bases including Guam are located there.

H-6 bombers can wreak havoc if war breaks out

The US stopped making B-52 bombers in 1962. Since then, they have been upgraded and used. On the other hand, China continued to make two-engine H-6 aircraft. According to an estimate, China has about 230 such bombers. China's H-6 fighter was based on the Soviet Union's Tupolev Tu-16 bomber. Dragon started making these aircraft in the 1950s.

Citing US and Taiwanese military experts, Reuters said that H-6 bombers could become a very serious threat. China's military doctrine includes attacks on headquarters, communications facilities, logistics centers and other key targets, as well as at sea for island landing missions such as the invasion of Taiwan.

Experts believe that China will use H-6 bombers for all these. He told Reuters that the US should continue to try to neutralize the H-6 bombers as long as they are on the ground.

China has now started sending these aircraft regularly on missions away from the coast. Beijing is now deploying these aircraft in the same way the US Air Force conducts long-range patrols with B-52s and other bombers to indicate the ability to strike distant targets.

US and China at loggerheads over Taiwan

Taiwan's Defense Ministry told Reuters that during China's military exercise, "three groups of three H-6 aircraft" were seen flying in its airspace. Two groups even practiced attacking.

Pentagon spokesman Major Pete Nguyen said the US was "ready to respond to any threat and defend the homeland." Taiwan's democratically elected government strongly rejects China's claims.

The return of Donald Trump as president in the US risks increasing tensions with China. Dragon has demonstrated the J-35 stealth fighter aircraft during an air show this week.
