He was sending money to an agent of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, Turkish police arrested him
Turkish police have arrested a man on charges of transferring money to an agent of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. According to Turkish official media, the accused was transferring money to an Israeli intelligence agent present in Turkey. The suspect has been identified as Liridon Rexhepi from Kosovo, who entered Turkey on August 25 and was detained last Friday.
On Tuesday, Turkish police formally arrested him. The report said that he confessed to the charges against him during interrogation. Since January, Turkish security agencies have detained dozens of such suspects who were working for Israel. Most of them have been detained on suspicion of collecting data on Palestinians living in Turkey.
Israel did not respond
Israel has not yet reacted to this entire matter. This is not the first time that people associated with the Israeli intelligence agency have been caught in a country. Since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been one of the biggest critics of Israel's military actions in Gaza and has praised Hamas from time to time.
Broke ties with Israel
In protest against the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Turkey has ended all trade relations with Israel and expelled the Israeli ambassador from the country. However, some opponents of Recep Tayyip Erdogan have claimed that ships carrying arms and supplies to the Israeli army are leaving from Turkish ports.
The supply of gas and oil from Azerbaijan to Israel also goes through Turkey. In such a situation, Erdogan is accused of supporting Palestine only in words.
