MEA told what happened between Modi and Biden on the Bangladesh issue

PM Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden had an important phone conversation on August 26. The situation in Bangladesh was discussed in this conversation between the two leaders. This conversation took place at a time when concerns were growing about the situation of minority Hindus in Bangladesh. In the conversation, PM Modi emphasized the issue of the safety of minorities in Bangladesh. He said that it is important to ensure the early restoration of normalcy in Bangladesh and the safety of Hindus there.

PM Modi also noted that there was no clear statement from the US on the issue of Bangladesh, which raises the question of how serious the US is about the situation in Bangladesh. At the same time, the Indian Foreign Ministry has stated the White House's silence on Bangladesh during the talks between Prime Minister Modi and President Biden.

The MEA said, 'These claims are biased and motivated. Firstly, press releases issued after such talks between leaders are not like joint statements where every word is negotiated and considered with mutual consent. We are well aware of the contents of the conversation between PM Modi and the President and I can tell you that our press release is an accurate and reliable record of what happened in the conversation'.

India has always talked about protecting the rights of minorities in Bangladesh, and this issue was also prominent in this dialogue. PM Modi said that he is concerned about the condition of Hindus in Bangladesh and he expected Biden that America would raise its voice on this issue.

However, no official statement came from the US after this conversation, due to which the Indian Foreign Ministry expressed its concern. They said that the US should show more activism on the Bangladesh issue.
