Netanyahu felt pity for Hezbollah, but this mercy will prove fatal for Hamas and Iran!
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced a ceasefire with Lebanon's Hezbollah. With this, the 14-month-long war between the two will come to an end. Netanyahu has shown mercy on Hezbollah, but his mercy can prove fatal for Iran and Hamas. The answer to why this is so is found in Netanyahu's address.
Before knowing that answer, let us know what Israel said on the ceasefire. Netanyahu's office said the Security Cabinet approved the US-brokered ceasefire plan by a vote of 10-1. Israel has praised America's contribution to this process. However, it also made it clear that it reserves the right to take whatever action is required for its own security.
Why was the ceasefire announced?
Netanyahu also explained the reason why the ceasefire was announced. Addressing the nation, he said that the duration of the ceasefire will depend on the developments in Lebanon. Netanyahu also said that this will let us know whether the ceasefire is a temporary measure or not. Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the Israeli army needs to focus on Iran.
In the second reason, Netanyahu said that the Israeli army needs to replenish its stocks. Elaborating on this, he said, "It is no secret that there have been major delays in the delivery of weapons and war materials. These delays will be resolved soon. We will receive the supply of weapons that will keep our soldiers safe."
Citing the third reason, Netanyahu said, a ceasefire with Hezbollah is a strategy to isolate Hamas. He further said, since the war, Hamas was dependent on Hezbollah. But now that Hezbollah is out of the picture, Hamas is left alone. He said, we will increase our pressure on Hamas and this will help us in our mission to release our hostages.
In his address, Netanyahu further said that there was a dispute over a clause in the ceasefire agreement. Lebanon was opposing it. If Hezbollah violates the agreement, we will be free to take military action.
Iran and Hezbollah with Hamas
Talking about the tension between Hamas and Israel, it increased after October 7, 2023. Tensions between the two increased after Hamas' attack in Israel. Israel has been bombing Gaza since the Hamas attack. The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for more than 1 year. According to Palestine, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 44,000. More than half of the dead are women and children.
Iran's proxy has opened a front against Israel
Hezbollah and Houthis are also standing with Hamas. All three are called Iran's proxies. This is the reason why Israel's tension with Iran has also increased. Iranian proxies have united and opened a front against Israel in the Middle East. For the last 24 hours, Iranian proxies have been attacking Israel's bases. At the same time, Houthis are firing missiles on European country's ships in the Red Sea.
Houthi fighters targeted an Italian cargo ship. The Italian ship was going from the Gulf of Aden to Iran. But Houthis fired missiles at the ship at Bab-al-Mandab Strait. The Italian ship was damaged by the missile attack of Houthi fighters. It is claimed that Houthis attacked this ship with a rocket. This was a container ship of the Italian company MSC Tavvishi. Tavvishi is the world's largest container shipping company. 20% of the sea trade is done through this company. Houthis have damaged 14 ships of the company this year.
The Houthis not only attacked the Red Sea, but also fired ballistic missiles at the Israeli city of Eilat. It is claimed that the Houthis fired 2 ballistic missiles at the Eilat port. However, Israel claims that it destroyed the ballistic missiles in the air itself. Meanwhile, the Iraqi Resistance Force has also opened a front against Israel. The Resistance Force has dropped bombs on the Golan Heights.
The Iraqi Resistance attacked Golan Heights with 20 rockets and 8 drones. It is claimed that 6 rockets managed to hit the target. However, Israel has said that the Resistance's attack was a complete failure.
