Now the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh will be accounted for, international organizations took this step.

About 600 people, including Bangladeshi Hindus, were killed in the anti-government protests in Bangladesh in August. India has been raising the issue of the safety of Bangladeshi Hindus from the very beginning. Now the United Nations has also urged for investigation and protection of the minorities killed in the violence.

A top UN human rights official on Wednesday called for a thorough investigation into all killings and other rights violations that took place during the violent clashes that preceded and followed the fall of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. UN Human Rights High Commissioner Volker Turk called for an investigation, calling for an inclusive approach where every voice is heard irrespective of class, gender, caste, political ideology, identity, or religion.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk completed his two-day visit to Bangladesh on Wednesday. His visit comes at a time when the interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus is facing challenges to establish order in the country.

Hindus are protesting

Ever since the Hasina government came to power, attacks on Hindus have increased in Bangladesh, against which many human rights groups, including India, have raised their voice. Thousands of Hindus in Bangladesh are protesting against the violence against them and for their safety. Turk stressed the need to thoroughly investigate the allegations of attacks on minority groups in the country.
