PM Modi on Guyana tour, 10 important agreements signed between the two countries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Guyana. In this visit after 56 years, 10 important agreements were signed between India and the South American country Guyana. These 10 agreements include hydrocarbons, agriculture, culture, health, energy, digital payment system, pharmaceutical and defense etc. During a conversation with the media, the Prime Minister said that Guyana's cooperation will help India greatly in energy security. President Irfan arrived at the airport to give a grand welcome to the Prime Minister.

Long term plans will be chalked out between the two countries. He said that 24 years ago he had visited Guyana as a common man. Now after 56 years, his visit here as the Prime Minister of India will lead to building deeper relations between Guyana and India. He said that I already have a personal relationship with this country.

Which important agreements were signed?

Among the 10 agreements signed between India and Guyana, an agreement was also signed in the field of hydrocarbons. This included the supply of crude oil from there, natural gas from Guyana as well as the development of infrastructure there to enhance such facilities. An agreement related to agriculture was also signed in the agreement between the two countries.

An agreement was reached between the two countries on the use of new technology, resources, and scientific methods to increase agriculture and related trade. An agreement was reached between India and Guyana on medical products, through which both countries agreed on the Indian Pharmacopoeia. Under the Jan Aushadhi Yojana, India will supply cheap medicines to CARICOM countries.

Through this, cooperation between these countries and the areas of medical products of India will be promoted. India Stack Agreement was signed between Guyana and India. Through this, all the digital discoveries of India, along with the capacity building being done regarding these, an agreement was reached between the two countries to implement digital payment in Guyana with the help of UPI. An agreement was also reached between the two countries regarding defense, culture, science, sports, and news broadcasting.
