PM Modi reached Guyana, a visit of an Indian PM after 56 years, President Mohammed Irfan Ali along with the cabinet welcomed him.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Guyana, South America on Wednesday. This is the first time in 56 years that an Indian Prime Minister is on a visit here. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Georgetown, President Irfan gave him a grand welcome at the airport. He greeted Prime Minister Modi with a hug. Along with the President, more than a dozen cabinet ministers also welcomed the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a bilateral meeting with the President of Guyana. He will also address a special meeting of the Guyana Parliament. The reason behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Guyana is also the rapidly increasing number of Indians there.

Regarding the Prime Minister's visit, Indian Ambassador to Guyana Amit S Telang said that this visit of the Prime Minister is very important for both Guyana and India. He said that the Prime Minister of India has visited here in the last 5 decades and 56 years. The good relationship between the two countries is years old. It is also historically very strong. He said that the Prime Minister's visit to Guyana is enough to show the deep friendship between the two countries that has been going on for years.

PM Modi met Indians

After reaching Guyana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met Indians holding tricolor flags and badges in their hands. A colorful program was also organized in Guyana to welcome Prime Minister Modi. The Prime Minister enjoyed the cultural program in Indian attire.

Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to Guyana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the CARICOM-India Summit held by CARICOM leaders on Thursday. The Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell will also be present with him in this meeting. The objective of this summit will be to focus on energy, infrastructure, agriculture, food security in the country.
