UNGA: India took a gamble on the Palestine issue, these 13 countries accepted the resolution against Israel as correct
India abstained from voting on the resolution related to Palestine in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). In this resolution, it was demanded that Israel should remove the illegal occupation of the Palestinian territory as soon as possible and that too within 12 months without any delay. India did not vote on this resolution. 124 countries voted in favor of this resolution.
Out of these, 14 countries voted against the proposal. Israel and America voted against the proposal. Whereas 43 countries including India did not participate in the voting. Those who did not participate in the voting include India, Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Nepal, Ukraine and Britain.
Israel should remove illegal occupation.
The resolution passed on Wednesday demanded that Israel remove its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territory without delay and do so within 12 months of the adoption of the current resolution. It also said that Israel should be held accountable for any violations of international law in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The resolution, prepared by Palestine, strongly condemns the Israeli government's disregard for its obligations under the UN Charter, international law, and relevant UN resolutions, and stresses that such violations pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
