US Elections: Trump or Kamala, who will win? The suspense continues!US Elections: Trump or Kamala, who will win? The suspense continues!

US Presidential election today. Tough competition between Trump and Kamala Harris. Trump has a slight lead in the survey, but it will take a few days for the real results to come.

Washington: The US presidential election will be held today (Tuesday), in which the contest is between Republican Party leader Donald Trump and Indian-origin Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris. A survey conducted by 'Atlas Intel' on November 1 and 2 has predicted a slight lead for Trump.

In a survey conducted in seven major states, Trump has 49% support and Kamala has 47.2% support. Thus, Trump is ahead by 1.8% votes. If Kamala wins, she will become the first Indian-origin American President, while Trump will become President for the second time. Since this election is conducted by ballot paper instead of EVM, it may take a few days for the final results to come.

There are 24 crore voters in 50 states, and crores of people have already cast their votes through e-mail. Voting will end on Tuesday. These voters will elect 538 delegates (Electoral College), who will elect the President. The candidate who gets the support of 270 delegates will be elected President. 7 out of 50 states have most territories and play an important role in the presidential election. It is believed that the candidate who wins in Pennsylvania and Ohio will become the President. This is because the candidate who leads in Ohio has always become the President, except once. Since 1948, every candidate who wins in Pennsylvania has become President.

Delay in the final result?:

Within 12 hours of the end of voting, the election of who will be the next President will start emerging. Last time, it took 4 days. Since this is a paper election, it may take weeks to complete the counting and declare the final results. There will also be recounts in many places. Therefore, the last date to complete the counting is December 10.

In 2020, Trump had approached the court alleging rigging in the vote counting. If he faces defeat this time too, he can do the same. This may delay the result. After the final result is declared, the elected candidate will take oath as President in January.

Hillary lost even after 'winning' in 2016!:

In the US, voters do not directly elect the president. They elect the Electoral College (representatives), who elect the president. This rule proved to be a disadvantage for the then-Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. In 2016, Hillary Clinton got about 30 lakh more votes than Trump. But only 227 delegates were elected in her favor in the Electoral College. 306 delegates were elected in favor of Republican candidate Donald Trump. Thus, Trump, who crossed the majority mark of 270, became the president.

50 states, 538 representatives, 270 votes required for a majority, 24 crore voters
