We will have to bow down to Hamas' condition, Israel also accepted - there is no way left.

The problems of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are increasing. The non-return of Israeli hostages even after a year of war can become the biggest reason for his ouster from power. Demonstrations are being held on the streets of Israel every day for the hostage deal, on the other hand, Hezbollah is also attacking Israeli cities from Lebanon's soil every day.

Netanyahu is not ready for a complete ceasefire on either side and has put such conditions in the proposals so far that it has become more difficult for the mediators to implement the peace proposal. Netanyahu is pressuring the army to release the hostages through a military operation, while former Defense Minister Yoav Galant has said that the army has completed its maximum action in Gaza and now the release of the hostages can happen only through diplomatic channels.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called an emergency meeting with key ministers and top security officials on Sunday evening to release the hostages in Gaza. According to reports, it was reportedly agreed in this meeting that a ceasefire with Hamas is the only way to release the hostages.

Unidentified sources told several Hebrew media outlets that the meeting at the Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv was attended by top officials from the Shin Bet, IDF, and MOSSAD. Security agency officials told government ministers that Hamas is still demanding an end to the war and the withdrawal of troops from the Gaza Strip, while the agencies also killed its leader Yahya Sinwar last month.

The report said security chiefs stressed that Hamas' stance had not changed even after the leader's death, adding that agreeing to such demands would be the only way to reach a deal.

Hamas' condition for a ceasefire

Hamas has been saying from the beginning that it will not accept any temporary ceasefire. Hamas says that Israel should withdraw its army from Gaza, restrictions should be lifted for reconstruction and humanitarian aid in Gaza and there should be a complete ceasefire.

Ceasefire efforts intensify in Lebanon too.

A Lebanese political source told Reuters on Monday that US special envoy Amos Hochstein is arriving in Beirut on Tuesday to negotiate a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel. Lebanon is reported to have responded positively to the US ceasefire proposal, but Israel's prime minister has vowed to continue its operation until Hezbollah is destroyed.
