IPL Auction 2025: Wow! The person who was kept on the bench by Mumbai Indians for 2 years was given 11 crores by Virat Kohli's team

Jitesh Sharma IPL 2025 Auction: Mumbai Indians kept Jitesh Sharma on the bench in 2016 and 2017. After that he remained unsold, while he could not play for many seasons. When he did wonders for Punjab last season, Virat Kohli's team gave him a lot of money.

Jeddah: Perhaps this is what is called luck. There was a time when Jitesh Sharma was adorning the bench of Mumbai Indians and today Jitesh Sharma, who had a base price of one crore, was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 11 crore in the mega auction of IPL 2025 on Sunday. There was a battle between Lucknow and Chennai for Jitesh Sharma. Delhi also came into the race and now the fight is between Delhi and Lucknow. Delhi is ahead at a stake of 4.40 crores. But suddenly Bangalore has also entered this fight.

The battle between Punjab and Bangalore continued and within no time more than 5 crores were bid on Jitesh. After this Chennai also came in the race, Bangalore bid 6 crores, while Bangalore bid 7 crores. Punjab has used RTM on this. Bangalore was not ready to back down. It wanted a replacement for Dinesh Karthik at any cost. It placed a bet of 11 crores and Punjab refused. Jitesh became Bangalore's for 11 crores.

It is important to mention here that Jitesh was a part of Mumbai Indians in 2016 and 2017 and the team did not give him a chance. At that time his price was 10 lakhs. He remained unsold the next year, while he was out for 4 years. When Punjab Kings bought him in 2022, he once again came into the race. Last season, he gave sleepless nights to every franchise with his explosive performance. Now that he has joined Virat Kohli's team, he is excited.

He told the broadcaster about this - I will try my best to make Royal Challengers Bangalore the champion. The team has never won the trophy before this. On the other hand, Bangalore has bought Hazelwood for 12.50 crores. Jitesh is a right-handed explosive batsman, while in domestic cricket he is a part of Vidarbha. Now it remains to be seen whether he can do a feat like Dinesh Karthik for the team or not.
