Breast Cancer Surgery: What happens in breast cancer surgery? Is the breast removed...

Breast Cancer Surgery: The death toll from breast cancer is the highest in the whole world. But if it is detected at the right time, then your life can also be saved. Breast cancer is only one type of cancer. Which is in the breast of a man or a woman. It has been revealed in research that after skin cancer especially in American women, it is breast cancer which has the maximum number of cases. When cells start growing in an uncontrolled way in cancer, it takes the form of a tumour. In the same way, when breast cells mutate and start growing in an uncontrolled way, it takes the form of a tumour after a while. Like other cancers, the breast can also spread to other parts of the body. When this happens it is called metastasis.

Main symptoms of breast cancer
Breast cancer is one such disease. If it is known in time, then treatment is possible. Also, the patient can be relieved of this disease.
One of the main symptoms is lumpiness in the breast and a feeling different from the surrounding tissue.
Visible differences in the shape and texture of the breast.
Seeing changes in the skin of the breast
Inverted nipples of the breast and the appearance of depression in the breast
crusting of the skin around the breast or nipple
nipple discharge

When there is breast cancer, the skin of the breast looks like an orange peel.
As soon as breast cancer is detected, its stage is first ascertained at what stage it is now. If the disease is detected at the beginning itself, then its treatment is possible. But if breast cancer is not detected in the beginning but is detected at the very least, then it can also be cured only after surgery. In breast cancer, women have to undergo surgery and even after that, the treatment continues for many days. Which includes chemotherapy, hormone therapy and radiation. Chemotherapy can also be done before surgery.

There are different types of breast cancer surgery:
lumpectomy for breast cancer
Removal of the entire cancerous breast (mastectomy)
Removal of lymph nodes only if breast cancer is detected (sentinel node biopsy)
axillary lymph node dissection
Removing both breasts
A doctor can ask all these questions before surgery
These tests are done before breast cancer surgery. Like- as blood test, urine tests, x-ray and city scan
If you can have surgery earlier also, then the doctor can also ask you questions related to it.
If there is diabetes, high blood pressure, or thyroid, then questions related to it can also be asked.

What are the types of breast cancer surgery?
Breast cancer surgery depends on how far cancer has spread. Before surgery, other treatments are done to shrink cancer.

The first is radiotherapy
Through this, cancer cells are destroyed so that they can be prevented from spreading. Due to this, the size of cancer decreases. This is done after surgery.

Chemotherapy
In chemotherapy, medicine and injections are used to destroy cancer cells. The only purpose of giving chemotherapy before surgery is to reduce the size of the cancer tumour. So that it is not spread too far.

Breast-conserving surgery
In this type of surgery, only the breast tumour and surrounding cancer cells and tissues are removed. In this surgery, it is ensured that no cancer cells are left in the breast. After breast-conserving surgery, the remaining cancer cells are removed through radiotherapy.

Its advantages
In this, the whole breast is not removed. Only the part where there is cancer or tumour is removed. This surgery does not take much time to recover.'

Mastectomy
In this surgery, the breast is completely removed by operation. This operation is very tough in which the doctor can remove many glands around your breast. The doctor checks that all the cancer cells have been removed. Otherwise, later it can spread to other parts of the body.

Modified radical mastectomy
In this, along with the gland around the breast and nipple, the breast is removed.

Radical mastectomy
In this operation, the skin of the breast and its muscles and the surrounding glands are also removed.

Advantages of mastectomy
The advantages of this surgery are that 95 per cent of the chances of getting cancer again are eliminated. In this case, the chances of giving radiotherapy are reduced. It takes time for the patient to recover from this surgery.

Breast reconstruction
In this surgery, the breast is reshaped after mastectomy surgery. The process of transplanting the breast again is done after some time. To perform this surgery, the doctor will take organs and tissues from other parts of your body. It will take muscles from your stomach, hip and waist.
