Ingredients

  • 2 cups deseeded dates
  • 4 teaspoons raisins
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 1/2 cup pistachios
  • 5 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 4 teaspoons ghee

Method:

First of all, cut the dates into small pieces and then finely chop the cashews, almonds and pistachios. Now heat the pan on medium flame and add all the three ingredients one by one, roast for 2 minutes and take out in a plate. Add poppy seeds in the same pan and roast for 2 minutes. Take this out also in a plate. After this, add ghee in the pan and heat it and then add dates and raisins and cook while stirring for 2 minutes. Now take it off the flame and add almonds, cashews, pistachios and poppy seeds and mix well. After this prepared mixture cools down, fill it in the mold and prepare modak.
