Google Map Update: Google Maps gets 6 new features, now traveling will be easier..

Google has announced 6 new features for Google Maps in India. The company claims that it has been developed on artificial intelligence to improve user experience and comfort in travel. The update starting this week will provide a solution to the challenges faced by Indian users. Here we are telling you in detail about the 6 new features of Google Maps.

AI-powered narrow-road avoidance
People often complain that Google Maps takes them to roads where it is difficult to navigate. Many times people have complained that due to Google Maps, they reach a very narrow road with the car, from where it is difficult to go ahead. To solve this, Google is now using AI to help users avoid such narrow roads, especially car drivers.

The system estimates the width of the road using satellite imagery, street view, and other data. Adjusts routing algorithms to help drivers navigate congested areas more efficiently. The feature will initially be available in 8 cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai with expansion plans.

Flyover Navigation
People often face the problem of whether to take a flyover from Google Maps during their travel. To solve this problem, Google Maps will now highlight flyovers on recommended routes in 40 Indian cities. The feature aims to help drivers better prepare for upcoming elevated roadways during their travel.

Metro Ticket Booking
Public transport users in Kochi and Chennai will benefit from the new metro ticket booking feature based on ONDC and Namma Yatri. This integration allows users to buy tickets directly through Google Maps, making travel easier.

EV Charging Station Integration
Google has partnered with EV charging providers to integrate information about more than 8 thousand charging stations into Maps and Search. Users can now use real-time availability and filter based on charger type. India is the first country to offer two-wheeler EV charging stations on Google Maps.

Curated local recommendations
Google is partnering with local experts to create a list of recommended locations in 10 major cities and tourist places, making it easier for users to travel.

Reporting road accidents
The update also includes improvements to user-generated content, making it easier for local contributors to report road incidents and share information. The feature will be available on Android, iOS, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. These features will be gradually implemented on Android and iOS devices in India.
