In Hindu religion, Tuesday is considered especially auspicious for the worship of Lord Hanuman. Hanuman, a devoted disciple of Lord Shiva and the eleventh incarnation of Lord Rama is believed to remove all difficulties of life. It is believed that if someone is blessed by Lord Hanuman, then even the biggest problems go away. Worshiping Hanuman is said to bring happiness, peace, health, and prosperity and can also protect the devotees from negative energies. It is a common practice to offer red vermillion to Lord Hanuman, especially on Tuesdays.

The belief is that applying vermillion to Lord Hanuman can reduce the effects of Mangal Dosh (Mangal Peeda) in one's horoscope, thereby reducing the miseries of life.

The worship of Hanuman is relatively simple and primarily involves the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa, a devotional hymn dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Devotees believe that Lord Hanuman is easily pleased and his blessings can be obtained by chanting these hymns and applying vermillion on his idol.

The practice of applying vermillion to Lord Hanuman has its origins in the ancient Indian epic Ramayana. According to Ramayana, during Treta Yuga, Hanuman once saw Mother Sita applying vermillion on her forehead. When Sita was asked about the reason for this practice, she explained that it was for the longevity and well-being of her husband, Lord Rama. Hanuman, out of his deep devotion, decided to apply vermilion all over his body, as he believed that this would bring great happiness to Lord Rama and ensure his eternal blessings. Lord Rama was very pleased with Hanuman's extraordinary devotion and declared that whoever applied vermillion on the idol of Lord Hanuman would be freed from his sufferings.

To perform the ritual of applying sindoor to Lord Hanuman, follow these steps:

On Tuesday morning, after taking a bath and wearing clean, red attire, anoint the idol of Lord Hanuman with Gangajal (holy water).

Now wipe the idol with a clean cloth. After that, add jasmine oil to vermilion and first offer it at the feet of Hanuman ji.

Light incense, lamps and offer other traditional puja items like sweets like gram flour laddu or boondi laddu.

Recite Hanuman Chalisa and other Hanuman mantras or mantras.

Take a pinch of vermillion from the idol of Lord Hanuman and apply it on your forehead. It is believed that it helps in removing difficulties and sorrows from your life.
