The history of this mystery is very interesting. Many believe that the Kakanmath temple was built in the 11th century and at that time it was built by King Kirti of the Kachwaha dynasty for his wife.

Many people believe that King Keerti's wife Kaknavati was a great devotee of Lord Shiva and there was not a single Shiva temple around, so she got it built.
