Recipe: Make coconut barfi with jaggery in this way, it will be ready in just 30 minutes!
Coconut Barfi is a melt-in-the-mouth, flavourful Indian dessert that can be prepared in less than 30 minutes. This coconut burfi is popular all over India and each region has its own variation. Some coconut barfi is made with sugar and some are made with jaggery. some also use milk-made or condensed milk and others use regular milk while preparing coconut burfi. Today we have brought you the recipe for coconut barfi made with jaggery.
Ingredients:
2 cups freshly grated coconut
1 cup grated jaggery
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp ghee
Chopped nuts for garnish (optional).
Instructions :
Heat a pan on medium heat and add ghee to it.
Add freshly grated coconut to the pan and fry for a few minutes till it becomes slightly dry.
Dissolve jaggery in water in a separate pan and boil it. Let it boil for a few minutes until it becomes a thick syrup.
Pour the jaggery syrup along with the grated coconut into the pan and mix well.
Cook the mixture on a low flame, stirring continuously, till it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Take the pan off the heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
Grease a square or rectangular pan with ghee and pour the coconut mixture into the pan. Press it down evenly with a spatula.
Garnish with chopped nuts and let it cool completely.
When it cools down completely, cut the coconut barfi into desired shapes and serve.
