State Bank of India, often considered to be the largest bank in the country, releases notifications every year for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) to various posts. Every year a large number of candidates apply for this vacancy. The selection process involves two levels of written examinations, Prelims and Mains. To secure a job as a PO, candidates must have a general awareness, of current affairs, reasoning and knowledge of banking and accounting.

Eligibility & Age Limit:

Candidates applying for the SBI PO post must have a graduation degree in any stream from any recognized university. Additionally, basic computer knowledge is required. Regarding age, candidates should be between 21 to 28 years. However, age relaxation is provided to candidates falling under reservation categories.

SBI PO Work Profile:

A PO works as a Customer Relation Officer in a bank branch. Responsibilities include account preparation, billing, investments, marketing, statements, account drafting, check clearance, cash flow, ATM cards, demand drafts and bank management. The basic salary of the candidates selected for the post of PO starts from Rs 32,000. Becoming an executive is no easy task, especially in places where daily public contact is required. This makes the role of a Bank PO diverse and challenging.
