What was the reason for the war between Lord Ram and Mahadev, know the mythological story!

According to ancient myths, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Rama and defeated many demons including Ravana and Kumbhakarna. Ramayana describes the epic battle between Lord Rama and the demon king Ravana, about which very few people know. We are talking about the war between Lord Ram and Lord Shiva, so let us know about it in detail.

When the grand Ashwamedha Yagya was taking place, the horse of the Yagya passed through different states. Meanwhile, when the horse reached Devpur, where the king was Veermani. King Veermani was a great devotee of Lord Shiva, hence Shiva himself protected the place. No other ruler could establish dominance over his kingdom. When King Veeramani saw the horse, he captured it. This led to a fierce war between Ayodhya and Devpur. When the king started losing the battle with Lord Ram, the king appealed to Mahadev and Mahadev also had to come to earth to fight with Shri Ram on the king's behalf.

As a result, a massive war broke out between the forces of Lord Rama and Lord Shiva. Veerbhadra, sent by Lord Shiva, along with Nandi and other Shiva Ganas, engaged in a fierce conflict with Lord Rama's army. Veerbhadra killed Bharat's son Pushkal by striking him with his trident, while Lakshman was taken prisoner.

When Shri Ram's army started losing the war, Shri Ram himself reached there along with Lakshman and Bharat and after this Shri Ram attacked Shiva's army. Due to this, Nandi and other Shiva Ganas started getting defeated. In response, Lord Shiva himself appeared on the battlefield along with his divine consort Parvati. There was a continuous war between Lord Rama and Lord Shiva.

When Rama used Pashupatastra (a divine weapon) against Lord Shiva, the arrow entered Lord Shiva's heart. Seeing this, Lord Rudra was pleased and said to Shri Ram that I am satisfied with the war, tell me what boon do you want. After achieving victory in the battle, Lord Rama requested to revive all the fallen warriors. After this, on the orders of Shiva, King Veermani returned the sacrificial horse to Shri Ram. After which both returned to their respective places.

This episode highlights a lesser-known aspect of the Ramayana, where the events of the Ashwamedha Yagya led to a war between Lord Rama and Lord Shiva. The intervention of Lord Shiva, the supreme god of destruction, added a divine dimension to the epic story of Lord Rama.
