Talking about salary, when an IAS officer is appointed as SDM, ASP or Assistant Commissioner, his basic pay at Level 10 is Rs 56,100. Apart from this, they also get other government allowances. On the other hand, the basic salary for the highest post i.e. Cabinet Secretary of India is Rs 2,50,000.
