WHO's warning- cases of diabetes and heart disease are increasing rapidly, immediate action is necessary

Most Deadly Disease: Diabetes and heart disease are soon going to take the form of an epidemic. According to statistics, these diseases are causing two-thirds of the deaths worldwide.

In today's time, most people are suffering from diseases like obesity, diabetes and cancer. Seeing the increasing number of these serious health problems, the World Health Organization (WHO) has asked all countries to make policies as soon as possible to promote a balanced diet and physical activity.

The rising risk of non-communicable diseases

Wazed warned that the incidence of non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer is increasing. These diseases are now causing two-thirds of deaths. According to statistics, about 50 lakh children under the age of 5 are obese, while 3 lakh 73 thousand children in the age group of 5 to 19 years are facing the same problem.

The need for lifestyle changes

Currently, the region is facing rapid demographic change, urbanization, economic development, and an unbalanced diet. This has also had a negative impact on people's lifestyles. About 74% of adolescents and 50% of youth are not physically active. This situation has become so serious that if this increase continues, it will be difficult to achieve the goals of sustainable development by 2030.

Unhealthy foods are being banned.

Wazed said that many countries have already implemented food labeling rules, banned trans fats, and taken steps to increase taxes on sweetened drinks. However many steps are still required to establish a healthy society. It is time that we redefine our diet and physical activities so that we can ensure a healthy future not only for ourselves but also for the generations to come.
