Before choosing shooting as her primary choice, Manu tried her luck in sports like skating, martial arts, karate, kabaddi and boxing. She has also won medals in boxing and martial arts before shooting. But she had to quit boxing due to injury. Manu is a national medalist in Karate, Thang Ta and Tanta. She is a 3-time national champion in Tanta. She has won a state medal in skating.

The father left his job for his daughter

Manu Bhaker's father also contributed a lot in getting her to the Olympics. Her father Ram Kishan made a big sacrifice for Manu Bhaker. Seeing his daughter's interest in sports, her father left his job. Manu Bhaker's mother wanted her to become a doctor. But her old school coach advised her to try her luck in shooting.

At the age of 16, he got India its first gold

Manu Bhaker first came into the limelight at the age of 16. Manu participated in the 2018 Commonwealth Games at the age of just 16 and won the gold medal in the 10 meter air pistol event. Apart from this, Manu also won 2 gold medals in the 2018 ISSF World Cup.
