17-year-old bowler wreaked havoc, this team collapsed to its third lowest score in T20I, target chased in just 4.4 overs

On 9 September, Singapore faced Myanmar in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A. This match was low-scoring. Singapore won this match. Singapore achieved the target given to them in just 28 balls. That is, the Singapore team did not even need to bat for a full 5 overs in a 20-over match. They achieved the target in just 4.4 overs. The condition of Myanmar's team, which came to bat first, was bad from the beginning. For its 9 batsmen, even reaching double figures was a distant dream. Now, a team whose plight was like this was bound to have a bad end.

Myanmar batted first and tried its best to play 20 overs. But, it failed in that. The team was all out 13 balls earlier. Myanmar's team collapsed for just 45 runs in 17.5 overs. Singapore's 17-year-old bowler Harsh Bhardwaj played a big role in Myanmar's condition, they took 4 wickets for just 8 runs in his quota of 4 overs and were the most successful bowler of the match.

9 batsmen of Myanmar could not reach the double-digit mark

Singapore bowled so lethally that it became difficult for the Myanmar batsmen to stay on the wicket. The biggest example of this was that 9 of its batsmen could not even score 10 runs. There were only 2 batsmen who crossed the double-digit mark. However, even those two could not score more than 11 runs.

The 45 runs scored against Singapore was Myanmar's third-lowest total in T20 International. Earlier, on 28 July last year, in the match played against Thailand, they were all out for 39 runs. Whereas, two days later, on 30 July 2023, this team was all out for its lowest score of 35 runs against Malaysia.

Now Singapore had a target of 46 runs, which it achieved in just 4.4 overs. Singapore achieved this target by losing 2 wickets. That means it won the match by 8 wickets with 92 balls remaining.
