6 batsmen of Team India including Iyer-Pant failed, bat did not work in the Duleep Trophy before the Bangladesh Test series
The Indian team is going to play a 2-match Test series against Bangladesh from 19 September. Just before this, many players who have made their debut for Team India are participating in the Duleep Trophy. All of them had their eyes on making a place in Team India's Test team. However, they could not do anything special in the first innings. India D faltered completely under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. Within 2 hours of the start of the innings against Rituraj Gaikwad's India C, Shreyas Iyer, Devdutt Padikkal and Srikar Bharat returned to the pavilion. While playing against India A, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Rishabh Pant also got out cheaply.
The match between India C and India D is going on in Anantapur. This match started at around 9.30 am. After this, by the end of 20 overs at 11.30 am, Iyer was out for 9 runs, Bharat for 13 runs and Paddikal was out without opening the account. On the other hand, in the match being held in Bengaluru, Yashasvi Jaiswal had a great start against Shubman Gill's team. However, he too could not stay at the crease for long. After hitting some good shots, he too got caught. Jaiswal scored 30 runs.
Even after lunch, Team India's batsmen continued to get out. Rishabh Pant was making a comeback in the red ball cricket in Duleep Trophy after 20 months. He had a good chance to make a place in Team India again, but his bat also did not work. Pant got caught after scoring only 7 runs. India A's captain took a brilliant catch. Apart from him, Sarfaraz Khan's bat also remained silent, he recently scored two half-centuries in his debut Test match against England.
Indian Team 6 players may not have been able to leave their mark in the first innings of the Duleep Trophy. But Akshar Patel, playing for India D, saved Iyer's sinking team with his brilliant innings. He claimed for selection by scoring a fifty in 78 balls. After losing 6 wickets at the score of 48, Akshar batted brilliantly along with the bowlers and took the team close to 150 runs. Till the time of writing the news, he had scored 72 runs.
